Communal Cowboy is a clothing and lifestyle brand based in Austin, TX. After softly launching the brand in 2020, they approached Minute.tech’s creative team to help bring their vision to life.
View siteIn 2019, two former Texas Tech classmates decided to jump into the professional world by creating one of the very first CBD flower brands based out of Austin, TX. Within that year they had purchased their first packaging materials, sourced a trustworthy wholesale provider, and decided on a name. By 2020, Communal Cowboy was born.
Minute.tech’s creative team was approached by the founders to help streamline the visual side of the business by overhauling packaging design, creating social assets, and coming up with multiple creative campaigns that helped them gain a local following. Over the course of 2 years we collectively came up with 6 unique products, introduced clothing design, grew their social media by 10K+ followers, and helped solidify the brand as a well-known Austin classic.

As time passed and regulations around promoting any form of cannabis became stricter, Communal Cowboy made the difficult decision to drop their CBD line and focus solely on clothing. Luckily they had already started to see some early success from limited clothing drops with the help of our creative team handling both clothing and advertising design.
In 2023 the world saw what would catapult the brand into widespread awareness through the introduction of the Dang Hat - a simple hat design with various color combinations meant to be easily added to any outfit. The Dang Hat would go on to be worn and featured by PGA, NFL and NCAA athletes, social media influencers, Austin City Limits performing musicians, and everyday people across the world.
Minute.tech is proud to be a driving force behind the brand’s newly found success and are currently working on the business’s next milestone - retail stores. Though there have been ups, downs and challenges along the way, Communal Cowboy feels like it’s just getting started.
